What is Kids LEAD?
Kids LEAD was designed and created by Mrs. Brown, our Grade 6 Workman Elementary Teacher and Mr. Nieto, now principal at Orange Grove Middle School. KidsLEAD (Life Experiences about Democracy) aims to empower students to participate in the democratic process while learning about community and government and being mentored through meaningful participation. LEADers in grade 6 will be attending City Council Meetings with their parents and reporting to the council on various topics. Students will have an opportunity to get to know La Puente's City leaders when they visit our school and attend functions like our recent Back to School Night. Students will have the chance to have their voices heard, participate in city Hall meetings, complete volunteer work, beautify the city, and much more.
Upcoming 2020-2021 LEAD Events: TBD
