    Attention Students, Parents and Staff! The 2020-21 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Survey is now available to assist the District in establishing priorities and developing programs that best serve our students.

    Dear HLPUSD Staff, Students, and Families,


    The 2020-2021 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) survey is now open.  The LCAP survey helps the district to establish priorities and to continue and/or establish programs that best serve our students. 


    Participation in the LCAP survey is open to all staff; students in grades 7-12; and parents/families of district students. Please take a moment to click on the link below that best describes you: Staff, Student, or Parent (families). If you are an employee and have a child enrolled, you may take the survey once as an employee and again as a parent.

    Enroll your student at Workman: For TK, K and New Students.

    Looking to enroll your child at Workman Elementary? Here is information on how to do so. 

    New students to our campus including Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten can be enrolled online through aeries Online Enrollment starting on January 19. To begin the enrollment process, visit

    Online enrollment is ONLY for NEW students to Workman.

    Current TK students do not need to complete an enrollment form.

    LCAP Survey

    The 2020-21 Local Control Accountabilty Plan (LCAP) Survey is now available for Hacienda La Puente USD staff, 7-12 grade students, and families to complete! The LCAP Survey is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese, and helps the District establish priorities and continue to develop programs that best serve our students.

    This month students are learning about Hispanic Heritage. They did drawing activities and learned about the artist, Frida Kahlo.

    About Us

    Workman Elementary School is located in La Puente, CA and is one of 23 elementary schools in Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. It is a public school that serves about 380 students in grades Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 6.

    Workman Elementary was named one of California's 2016 Gold Ribbon Schools Award Program. This recognition from the California Department of Education (CDE) seeks to recognize outstanding educational programs and practices. Schools that are selected demonstrate exemplary achievements in implementing state standards in priority areas. 

    Workman Elementary students have the opportunity to learn fundamentals of Computer Coding as part of their daily curriculum. Through this 21st century literacy, students will develop critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. Our students are learning to code through the use of Scratch, Scratch, Jr. and Lego's. 

    Students also participate in Project LEAD, which aims to empower students to participate in the democratic process while learning about community and government and being mentored through meaningful participation. LEADers in grade 6 will be attending City Council Meetings with their parents and report to the council on various topics.
